Epicurean Kentuckian: What's the secret Hamburger flavor (Ad)?
2016-09-03 - Pattys Liberty Road General Store and Deli, 5097 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY - Photo ColumbiaMagazine.com (C) advertising. Patty Edwards makes what former Columbia-Union Presbyterian Pastor Eldon Trubee would surely have described as a "sincere" hamburger. It's hefty, hand patted, with lettuce (chopped, he insisted it just be a uncut and sticking out around the edges, with a thick slice of tomato and a slice - not a hint - of sweet white onion and some dill pickle slices. It's got a secret ingredient and, despite using all ethical espionage and interrogation techniques, we have been unable to extract any useful information. Patty's Liberty Road General Store and Deli is a long time advertiser in What's Cooking on ColumbiaMagazine.com.

Solid green for just a little while
2016-09-03 - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com (c). Adair and surrounding counties are on the brink of changing from its beautiful solid green landscape (for the most part) to the coming colors of fall. Heading for the water
2016-09-03 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com (c). Water has been on the agenda in Adair and surrounding counties the last two weeks with questions and discussions of taste, ingredients and how to make it better for customers.
