The Kentucky Historical Society recently surprised author Ronald Wolford Blair. They gave him an opportunity to hold in his hands the jeweled sword that had been presented to Col. Frank Lane Wolford, downtown Lexington, on March 10, 1864 for his role in capturing Gen. John Hunt Morgan. Ronald Wolford Blair is Col. Wolford's Biographer and g,g, nephew. He has many Wolford & Blair relatives in Russell, Adair, and Casey Counties. Lindsey Wilson College will host the author at 3pmCT, Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at LWC's Norma & Glen Hodge Center for Discipleship, 402 Helen Flatt DR, Columbia, KY, to discuss his new book on the life of Col. Mary Anne Loy announced a major breakthrough on the Sidewalks to the Schools project, to link Downtown Columbia to the Adair County School campus. Through diligent research she discovered the documents deeding a 30 ft right of way to the Kentucky Highway Department, which means that now, only negotiations with the KDE, District 8, Somerset, KY, is needed - once money is allocated - for the project to proceed. Loy reported that preliminary reports are good that the project can proceed.
