CMS students learn French art technique - Campbellsville Middle School students recently spent a class period learning a French art technique. Students in Jo Ann Harris's general art classes learned about "en plein air" drawings, which is a French expression for creating art "in the open air." Harris said the term is also used to describe the act of painting outdoors, and also refers to drawing what the eye actually sees. She encouraged her students to study the shapes of nature, particularly the shadows, irregular shapes, highlights and detail. Students sat outside Hamilton Auditorium on the Campbellsville High School campus and drew nearby trees, plants, buildings and more.
