CES first-graders learn to make butter Campbellsville Elementary School first-grade students are learning to make butter. In Shirley Cox's class, students recently discussed how butter is made. They learned that butter is used to eat and cook with, and that it can be found at grocery stores, restaurants and movie theaters. Students also discussed how butter is made, and then took turns shaking a jar of all the ingredients until it turned into butter. Cox then gave each student a cracker to sample the butter. In the end, students said it tastes good.
