Fall's purple Asters star at Trabue Russell House garden

Purple Asters are among fall's most beautiful flowers and this particular color, as opposed to the white or pink varieties, was a favorite of my Grandma Addie's. Asters also receive a high score as a feeding flower for Monarch butterflies. Anytime you want to see beautiful plantings, remember the gardens at the Trabue Russell House on Jamestown Street in Columbia. They are designed and cared for by the Adair County Garden Club. These are visible from Jamestown Street on the iron fence. - LW
