Renae Smith wins Adair Retired Teachers raffle

Renae Smith, Finance officer at Adair County School District central office, was the winner of the giant Christmas basket from the Adair co retired teachers. Proceeds go to help fund a $500 scholarship to an Adair County student majoring in education at LWC. - Linda Waggener

Downtown Days 2016 - Classic Auto Show, Larry Helm top winner

Larry Helm, Glens Fork, KY, is shown above with his 1959 Chevrolet Apache pickup truck. It's been repainted with original turquoise, and meticulously rebuilt by Helm's nephew, J.D. Grider, Glens Fork, KY, at the Downtown Days Classic Auto Show, held for the first time in the Adair Judicial Center Parking Lot for the first time. The truck won two top awards: BEST of SHOW, and FIRST PLACE in the Truck Division. The location proved a stroke of genius, providing a perfect place venue within walking distance to other Downtown Days events.
