Campbellsville Elementary School preschool students recently studied the letter P. They learned about objects that start with the letter, and talked about what sound it makes. To practice writing an uppercase and lowercase P, students used Play-Doh to make the letters. And, if they didn’t get it quite right, they just rolled their Play-Doh out and started again. Judy Keltner recorded the audio of Superintendent Alan W. Reed's support of the resolution by Columbia City Council last night to help obtain a Community Development Block Grant of $500,000 toward the construction of the new $6.5 million Community Learning Center/Central Office Building. Reed told the gathering that since implementation of new career pathways, the Adair County High School has achieved a zero drop out rate. He called on Dean of Students Robbie Harmon to comment; Dean Harmon said that the system has achieved a zero drop out rate for four years in a row. Mr. Reed noted that the new center will provide college classes on the Adair County School Campus during the school day, and adult education at night.
