Scenic Adair County, KY: Fortune Street yellow tree

2016-10-30 - E Fortune Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com (c).
At the right hour, the sun makes the crown of this water maple glow like a Christmas tree, making our return home rather magical. However, this is not news about pretty colors, which are just about commonplace right now. Rather, it is about the smartest animal in the county, our Mr. Blue, Cat Waggener, who never ceases to amaze with his ambition and industry. He's either doing his best to entertain, do good, be useful. This fall, we've found him patiently sitting under any one of our trees, watching the leaves fall, and at the right moment, swing a paw to knock the leaf aside. Wouldn't part with Mr. Blue for a billion or four dollars. - EW

2016-10-30 - Discount Auto Sales/Rent-a-Car, 4100 Knifley Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com (c).
Found this photo from the Huge Fire which destroyed the original building at Discount Auto Sales and after days of study, figured out that the incognito figure in dark shades, shown above cutering with some of the controls after the fire was over, is, in real life, famed firefighter Dennis Loy. Clicking Read More accesses the story of the Wed 26 Oct 2016, fire.
