This morning's historic last-breakfast-in-the old hall was one of the best attended in the history of the event. Commander Joe Hare at last Veterans Breakfast in old VFW hall

Columbia VFW Post 6097 Commander Joe Hare, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, had already delivered the welcome to one of the largest gatherings ever for the Annual Walmart Supercenter/UCB Bank Veteran's breakfast, the last to be held at the Post's Fairground Street Location. Next year, the post will be located in a brand new, 5,000 s.f. building at 500 Green Hills Road, Columbia, KY, which is already well on its way. Commander Hare said that Lindsey Wilson College is building the facility, and will be the owner until the Post 6097 takes possession. He said that Mike Newton, Plant Operations Director at Lindsey Wilson College, has set a target date of Memorial Day, 2017, for completion. - Ed Waggener
