Nights are Looking a Lot Like Christmas in Columbia!
2016-11-29 - Public Square at Well Walk, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com (c). Nights are looking just like Christmas in Downtown Columbia. This Christmas Card Village scene could be seen Monday evening, after Taft Neal and his Merry Men transformed the Square and Jamestown, Campbellsville, Greensburg and Burkesville Streets into a Yuletide Wonderland with the hanging of the Christmas Wreathes and Snowflakes on lamp posts throughout town in the wee and early hours of November 29, 2016. Anticipation is growing toward another big Country-Christmas-themed Christmas in Columbia in Downtown and at Lindsey Wilson - Taft Neal's home base - on Saturday, December 3, 2016. - EW. Epicurean Kentuckian: Dashboard picnic with Hardscratch Hot Dog
2016-11-29 - Glens Fork, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Deep fried like they do it in Clifton, NJ, with chili sauce, diced tomatoes and onions, on a toasted bun from Hardscratch Grocery & Deli, with a view watching rich folks coming back from Lake Cumberland pulling their boats round the curve on KY 55 South Road - Main Street in Glens Fork, KY. Don't know of any restaurant in this area which features deep fried hot dogs, but many will accommodate the request. This one was served in a manageable paper wrapper, which reduced tie, shirt, dress pants and car interior stains by 95% over the wicket styrofoam caskets favored as containers by so many. - EW
