Interim Supt. Pam Stephens with son Lee, daughter LaGene

Dr. Pamela Stephens, foregound, Columbia, KY, was hired as the interim Superintendent of the Adair County School District tonight, Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the regular December session beginning January 1, 2016. With her are son Lee Stephens and daughter LaGene Sexton. The new superintendent served most recently in a successful tenure of the Westport School District in Hardin County, KY. She was chosen from two applicants after a brief executive session followed by vote, on a motion by Mike Harris (5), with a second by Quinn Lasley (2), with Members Lisa Burton (2) and Terry Harvey (1), and Chairman Floyd Burton (4) affirming in a 5-0 vote. - EW

Adair School Board recognizes retiring Supt. Alan W. Reed

Adair County Board of Education Chairman Floyd Burton (Div 4) presented a plaque to retiring Superintendent Alan W Reed, tonight, Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the board's regular monthly session, with, looking on from left, Board Members Mike Harris (Div 5), Quinn Lasley (2), Board Member representing students Lauren McQuaide, (Reed, Burton) and Board Members Lisa Burton (3) and Terry Harvey (1). Mr. Reed's last day is December 31, 2016. The plaque reads, "Presented to ALAN REED in appreciation forall the good work youhave done for the children of Adair County. Adair County School Board, 2016." - EW
