VFW Post 6097 makes Santa rounds to WWII veterans
2016-12-18 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Joe Hare, Commander, VFW Post 6097, Columbia, KY. Saturday morning, 17 Dec 2016 some members of VFW Post 6097 delivered Christmas Bags to WW II veterans. Pictured is Warren "Buck" Perkins, with his Christmas bag left with VFW Member Robin Woodrum. When we pulled up, Buck was outside walking around and was calling me by name, (we are both from the Cane Valley/Coburg neighborhood), before I got out of the truck. He told us he is 95 years young and going strong. Merry Christmas to all our veterans. Joe Hare, Commander, VFW Post 6097

Lucy Clark Demumbrunn & Family, circa 1905
2016-12-18 - Toria, Adair County, KY - Photo from collection of Billy Joe Fudge. The woman in this picture is my Great Grandmother, Magdelene (Maggie) Delaney Roach Jessie. She is the mother of my Grandmother Emma who is standing by her and of course the daughter of Lucy Clark Demumbrunn and Nim Rod Roach. Ma was born in 1897 so I would suspect that this picture was taken around 1905. The gentleman is my Great Grandfather, John William Jessie and my Great Great Uncle Clarence, born in 1895 standing beside him. - Billy Joe Fudge
