Hannah Redmon presents $500 from Jax's to JOY Ministries
2016-12-21 - J.O.Y. Ministries, 212 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, columbiamagazine.com photo. The donation from Jax's Cool Convenient Store puts JOY Ministries over half way to its goal. Jax's Store manager, Hannah Redmon of Columbia, presented a check for $500 to JOY Ministries at the public square location in Columbia. From left are Krystal Cundiff, Billy Payne, Hannah Redmon and Maggie Coleman who said, "This check puts JOY Ministries over half way to its current goal. The gift moves the thermometer up to $290 per month, on its way to the goal of $450 per month operating capital." If JOY can establish a monthly amount it will keep the charity stable and allow it to grow in aiding the homeless or near-homeless people in Adair County. Hannah's husband Derrick and their little boy Benny came for the presentation on a cold December 20, 2016. Hannah said her boss, Brian Cooper, owner of both Jax's locations, believes in giving back to the communities they serve. He gives the responsibility to decide where the Christmas gifts go, and since the Redmon family lives in Adair County, Hannah chose JOY Ministries for her portion.
