Historian Mike Watson thinks this ad from an Adair County High School Annual, may trigger memories in some of the old folks in Columbia. It's recognizable today, but the building in the center was a pharmacy, not Photo Video, the next building was not Grimsley's Jewelry, and you couldn't get a fajita in the next one. And in those days, they weren't marking tires to keep people from overparking, there were meters which had to be fed, tickets for those who didn't pay - and those who were in danger of a summons often headed to see the city judge and make a settlement. These men have many stories and experiences and as always I got educated again today just by sitting at the table listening.
