Brown & Brown Call Center officially open 19 Jan 2017

The new Brown & Brown Call Center, above, next door to Brown & Brown's current office on the Adair County Veterans Memorial Bypass, had an official Columbia/Adair County Chamber of Commerce welcome along with an open house on a Red Letter Day for Economic Development in Adair County. The 5,000 s.f. facility represents a $1.5 million investment in the area economy. Already 10 people have been hired. That number will grow quickly to 25-30 and is expected to grow to 200 in the foreseeable feature, according to Brown & Brown of Kentucky Vice President Mike Neal. - Ed Waggener

There was a large turnout at the Columbia/Adair County Ribbon Cutting Ceremony today at the Brown & Brown Call Center on Adair County Veterans Memorial Bypass.On the steps, center, Chamber President Ellen Zornes and Michael Neal, Vice President of Brown & Brown of Kentucky, are flanked by Bob Fulcher, head of the call center, and right State Senator Max Wise. Chamber of Commerce receives Walmart grant at celebration

Columbia Store Manager Sam Scarbrough, at left, quoted Walmart founder Sam (Mr. Sam) Walton who said, each store should support the vision of the community it serves.” As a part of the new Training Academy opening celebratin, the store gave Walmart grants to three organizations. One of the three was the Columbia Adair County Chamber of Commerce.
