Campbellsville Elementary School kindergarten students recently learned about Groundhog Day. The day is celebrated on February 2 each year. According to folklore, if groundhog Punxsutawney Phil emerges from his burrow and see his shadow, there will be six more weeks of the winter season. Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Feb. 2, but spring weather seems to have arrived nevertheless. In Lisa Wiseman's class, students learned about Punxsutawney Phil and then made their own groundhogs out of construction paper.
