Proud of the ACHS Indian Basketball Team 2017!

This group photo for early in the year shows the young men who drove the successful Adair County High School Indian basketball team all the way through the very last game of the 2017 5th Regional Tournament action. Taylor County High School Cardinals won the game by one point, 67-66, blocking ACHS from the Sweet Sixteen.

Harry Truman Loy and Ben Arnold in HS days

Harry Truman Loy, left, and Ben Arnold, with trophies awarded by the Rotary Club in their senior year of high school, when Adair County High School ran into the Clem Haskins in the championship of the 5th Region Tournament. Clem prevailed. Loy later became one of the leading Kentucky Educators. Arnold attended Centre College and later became a leading inventor and scientist. And Clem Haskins was an All-American, a pro basketball player, and NCAA Division I College Coach, finally to reach the epitome of South Central Kentuckydom, a gentleman farmer, addressed as "Mr. Clem" or "Mr. Haskins." Though careers turned out great, Dr. Arnold still wants Adair County to beat Taylor County tonight to get even with Haskins for that season ending defeat.
