Epicurean Kentuckian: Angel Cloud Meringue
2017-03-18 - Triangle Restaurant, 9841 W KY 80, Nancy, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com (c). A slice of homemade chocolate pie at the Triangle Diner, Nancy, KY, was reminiscent of the sky-high Angel Cloud Meringue Pies which Finis Albert & Ethel Harvey's girls, Trilby & Elaine, used to bake at Angel's Cafe, the unforgettable diner just off the Columbia Square on Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Eating pie in Nancy was problematic - it would have taken five more slices to fully suffice. If you go, owner Mike Harris, former Pulaski County Jailer and owner, says the triangle is less than 35 miles to Columbia, KY. - EW

Scenic Adair County, KY: Irresistible faces at Roseland Plantation
2017-03-18 - Roseland Plantation, Hurt Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com (c). Irresistible faces of these neighbors on the pasture at Roseland Plantation called out for a photo. They were patiently waiting for someone to recognize their need for carrots or apples. The grass from the other side of the fence was sniffed at but rejected. - Linda

CAUD Natural Gas Interest Survey
2017-03-18 - Columbia/Adair Utilities District, 109 Grant Lane, Columbia, KY - Photo from Jennifer Carter. Columbia/Adair County Utilities District (CAUD), is conducting a survey to ascertain the number of potential customers for a planned gas distribution in Adair County beyond the city limits of Columbia. Interest is already high, with some 650 residential & large commercial users already indicating, as of April 3, 2017, that they want natural gas should it become available. Filling out the form does not commit to taking the service immediately, only that the respondent has a good faith interest in helping to bring this service to all parts of the county. To respond: COPY & PRINT the form and mail or drop off at the CAUD office. If you are unable to print, survey copies are available at CAUD and may be filled out at the office. - Jennifer Carter
