Chris is the Secretary of the Chamber. The Business of the Quarter chosen was 99.1 the Hoss Radio station. The Froggett Family, owners of the station, recently relocated the station to Edmonton. GSA Troop 896 donates supplies to Green River Animal Shelter
 2017-03-21 - Green River Animal Shelter, 455 Appleby Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Annita Barnett. Girl Scout Troop #896, Columbia, KY, is celebrating the 105th birthday of GSUSA during the month of March. They recently made a visit to the Adair County Animal Shelter. The girls dropped off donations of pet food, towels, bleach, and other needed items. While there they were able to tour the facility and see what actually goes on. Afterwards the girls were treated to a milkshake at Sonic. In no particular order are: Laramie Baldwin, Courtney Henson, McKinlee Stone, Kantlee Harvey, Brayleigh Hargrove, Braylynn Hargrove, Malloree Kimbler, Halie Jeffries, Keitha Lee, Kelsey Wiley, and Katie Ploss. Lavern and Shirley are only about 12 weeks old. They are going to be big dogs, but they are very friendly and playful. Would make a great family pet. ( the one closest to the wall has been adopted). $50 adoption fee which covers them being spayed at our local vet. The two were in attendance at the March 21, 2017 meeting of the Columbia/Adair County Economic Development Meeting. Judge Stephens is rapidly returning to full recovery following surgery on January 26, 2017. Judge Stephens said that he had been advised that he needs 90 days before he'll be back to full strength and will likely not conduct meetings until then. That would be 36 more days from the date of his January 26 surgery. - EW
