Magistrate Greg Caldwell (6) successfully advocated for the resurfacing of CV Road to be included in the disappointing and severely reduced Discretionary Funding presented to the court at its special called meeting, Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Sewer expansion in Green River Commerce Park virtually done 2017-03-22 - Green River Commerce Park, Industrial Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. This lift station on Robin Wilkerson land in Green River Commerce Park, is complete, as is a natural gas line crossing, and all of the pipe installation for a major sewer expansion in the park. The final step before the system goes online will be three street crossings on Industrial Drive, which will be complete as soon as all four participants agree to contribute approximately $2,500-$3,000 for directional bores which were not included in the original bid. Both Robin Wilkerson and the Columbia/Adair County Economic Development Authority have agreed to the extra cost; the plan awaits authorization by Adair County Fiscal Court and the City of Columbia, to proceed. Campbellsville High School students are celebrating their college and career readiness success. Students are working hard to achieve college and career readiness status. To motivate them, College and Career Readiness Counselor Angie Travis marks their success on the wall outside her office. Photos of CHS junior and senior students are framed on the wall, and stickers are placed on the photographs as the students achieve college and/or career ready status. And, for seniors, Travis places a sticker on their photo when they are accepted into a college or university. At this time during the school year, the majority of seniors are college and/or career ready, and several have many stickers on their photos to indicate they have been granted admission into several colleges. Campbellsville Elementary School art student CES first-grader Parker Hamilton holds his monster. CES students recently made their own monsters. In Adrienne Hash's art class, students are learning about texture in the human environment. As an activity, students made monsters out of found materials. Students began with a paper plate and then added construction paper, bottle caps for the eyes and miscellaneous items found in the art room to complete their monsters.
