GSA Troop #896 - Pop Tab Collection for Ronald McDonald house 2017-03-24 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Annita Barnett. In observance of the 105th birthday of Girl Scouts USA (GSUSA), local Girl Scout Troop #896 has been collecting pop tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House (RMH). Two members of the troop, Brayleigh and Braylynn Hargrove, spent several weeks in the hospital when they were first born. The Hargroves' parents, Brian and Brandy, benefited greatly by usage of the Ronald McDonald Hospital in Cincinnati. The pop tabs will be delivered the first week in April. If anyone would like to donate pop tabs they may do so by dropping them off at Hwy 551 Scrap Yard or by calling 270-634-0709 and someone will pick them up. The girls each received a box of their favorite Girl Scout Cookies for their hard work. The Cut: a view from sunset side with a link to more 2017-03-23 - Metcalfe County, KY - Photo by Jan Sandidge. About a year ago we made a trip to admire spring at the landmark known in northern Metcalfe County as The Cut. This photo is more recent and shows the opposite side from the entrance featured with the article last year. Many an adventurer has climbed the cliff, as witnessed by the letters painted on these rock ledges facing the setting sun. You can see the dry bridge which crosses the South Fork of the Little Barren River in the distance.
