Zac Lawson, a business administration student from Bloomfield, KY, receives a check for $750 and the chance to move on to the state level for earning second place for his business model 'Make My Day Meats, at the Idea State U Regional Competition held on March 29 at Lindsey Wilson College. Purple Heart Recipient, WWI, John Henry Allison

John Henry Allison, private, 349 Infantry, U.S. Army; enlisted 10 September 1917, discharged 19 January 1919; recipient of Purple Heart; born 11 February 1894, died 25 June 1973, resident of Pontiac, IL, buried Southside Cemetery, Pontiac, IL; son of Nathan G. Allison and Lucy Pike; married Louise Ethel Scott; farmer. - MIKE WATSON.
World War I will be the main topic at the next meeting of the Adair County Genealogical Society's, scheduled for Monday, April 3, 2017, at 5pmCT at the Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. The program will address the Great War, the War to End All Wars, that we now refer to as World War I.
