Shriner's Fez: Reminder to donate to Kosair Charities

Adair Countians are reminded to watch for the colorful Kosair Charities fezes that semi-annual Kosair Charities Roadblock members will be wearing Friday afternoon, April 7, 2017, from 3pm-6pmCT, a the following locations: 1) Jamestown Street & Russell Road intersection and 2) Campbellsville Street in front of Burton Ace Hardware, 314 Campbellsville St, Columbia, KY. All proceeds go Kosair Charities, which has returned all donations from 50-fold or more to Adair County in recent years, a phenomenal return not matched by any other charity, as best it can be determined. Donors are encouraged to have checks filled out to Kosair Charities. - ED WAGGENER

Stage of Construction: KY 704 Waterline project

Plenty of water for homes, plenty of water for agriculture and commercial purposes - plenty of water pressure for the heaviest use late this summer is the promise of Columbia/Adair Utility District's (CAUD's) KY 704 project. Above, Dan Lawhorn welds a joint for a horizontal bore under a driveway as part of the first phase. Stotts Construction was completing all driveway bores before beginning the laying of a 12" lane across KY 768 from the Antioch area on Wheeler Hill Road to KY 704 at Fairplay. - EW
A reminder: CAUD is now conducting a survey in support of an effort to provide countywide natural gas service in areas not now served. See: Adair County residents urged to complete Gas Survey form
