Campbellsville High School teacher Ben Davis has been named one of eight finalists for this year's high school Teacher of the Year award. Kentucky Department of Education and Valvoline announced on Thursday, April 6, the names of 24 teachers chosen as recipients of the 2018 Valvoline Teacher Achievement Awards.

The Square Meals Café is open today, and serving 8am-1pmCT, Saturday April 8, 2017. The cafe provides the menu in advance below. The Square Meals Café, brought to you by the Farmers Market on the Square, SW Corner, Campbellsville & Merchant Streets, Columbia, KY, and our community, provides free hot meals for all kids and students. Breakfast: - Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Seasonal Fruit Cup, Morning Glory Muffins. Lunch: - Beef Stroganoff on Egg Noodles, Early Green Peas, Garden Salad. Dessert: Oatmeal Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich or All-fruit Popsicle.
Adults are welcome to dine with a $4 donation. The menu will change each week, utilizing as much locally produced ingredients as possible. Today's market featured transplants, early green leafy vegetables, home baked breads and pastries, and crafts. Barbara Armitage said that 42 vendors, enough to fill every space are registered for this year's program. - LW

Farmers Market on the Square - FM2 early Sat 8 Apr 2017

The Farmers Market on the Square had outgrown its original venue and is now in a much more spacious location at the corner of Campbellsville & Merchant Streets. Barbara Armitage, the market coordinator, said that this year, there will be more vendors than ever - enough to fill every space most Saturdays this spring, summer and fall. Again this year, the very popular Square Meals on the Square, is open the same hours as FM2. It's next to the three-peak brown top shelter which houses comfortable tables and chairs for diners. - LW
