Golden Rule-Wilson wins multiple awards

At the Kentucky Auctioneers Association Annual 2017 Convention in Bowling Green, KY, Golden Rule-Wilson Realty and Auction received awards for Best Radio Advertisement and Best Newspaper Ad (Real Estate). Alex Popplewell won 2nd runner up in the Professional Bid Calling Championship, and Chris Wilson was recognized as one of the Top 10 Auctioneers in Kentucky for 2016. Magistrate Daryl Flatt: Court's go-to member on finances

Second District Magistrate Daryl Flatt, above at a Budget Committee meeting Monday, April 10, 2017, advocates a strict spending policy and is recognized for his in depth knowledge of every line-item in the budget. Last night, at the April 11, 20176 regular session of the court, he opposed a spending measure for the Green River Commerce Park, but lost when the issue came to a vote, 4-3. - EW

Free pops concert Tuesday, 25 April 2017

J. Mark McVey, who made his Broadway debut as Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables," will appear in a free pops concert Tuesday, April 25 at 7:30pmET in Campbellsville University's Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville. McVey will be performing with CU's Orchestra in the concert.

When Lindsey Wilson College International Student - a great chef - Nicolas Marcano completed his dish for today's Internatonal Festival, this beautiful dish was readying for sampling. "Pelau" popular in Trinidad & Tobago, "Pelau" a traditional one-pot dish from ingredients which include rice, chicken, benas or peas. Magistrate Sammy Baker (3), who rarely breaks with fellow budget committee member Magistrate Daryl Flatt (2) on any issue, or with fellow magistrate and first cousin Billy Dean Coffey (5) broke for them to facilitate funding bores under Development Drive in Green River Commerce Park rather than cut trenches. The final vote on the issue: For funding, four: Baker, Harold Burton (1) Greg Caldwell (6), and Perry Reeder (3). Against: Flatt, Coffey, and Terry Hadley. - EW
