A friend of mine "Harold Johnson" who lives nearby, stopped by Sunday to show his newly rebuilt 1967 Chevy SS.He also took Jenny and I for a cruise. It was a Tennessee barn find that had been in limbo for 15 years. Harold belongs to the Russell County Car Club ( Good Ole Boys Toys) and will be showing it this coming Saturday at the City Park in Russell Springs. There is no admission fee and you can register between the hours of 1-3. Trophies will be giving away at 4 pm. Some of the sponsors are Don Franklin and Hwy. 80 Auto Accessories. Scenic Adair/Casey Shortcut: Dunnville/River RDs - Pink Phlox 2017-04-13 - Dunnville Road near Short Creek Road, Eunice, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com photo(c). Pink Wild Phlox aka "Sweet Williams" in Sulphur Wellese, are most prevalent on Dunnville Road/River Road shortcut from Eunice to mega-manufacturing center Dunnville this Spring. Dogwood blossoms are beginning take over, but many just past peak redbud trees continue to shine. The rights-of-way are lined with random long stretches of the lavender or bluish phlox. One for the World Record Book of Guinnesses, borrowing on the wisdom of Columbia's great mayor, the late Coy "Squaredeal" Downey, it seems entirely likely that Tom Brock has set record for the shortest tenure in Adair County history. Early in the 11 Apr 2017 session of Adair Fiscal Court, the legislative body appointed ordained the official Adair County Ticket-Taker-Upper for supplies from the blacktop plant, in order to properly assign the charges to each Magisterial District. Less than an hour later, the order was protested by County Road Foreman Terry Corbin, who found the court's micro-management went too far. Corbin protested that Tom Brock was far too important and too busy too much to be saddled with the clerical shore, and asked that he be given authority to assign the duty to most suitable person at any time. The court listened, made necessary legislative changes, stripping Mr. Brock of his unwanted and unsought title of Ticket-Taker-Upper.
