A glad time - White Iris are blooming in Downtown Columbia, a reminder, maybe, of the heritage garden Mrs. Sandusky grew at the foot of Jamestown Hill on the corner of Guthrie and Jamestown Streets, before the Convenient Store replaced the home. These are located on the Greensburg Street side of the Historic Courthouse, to the credit of Adair County Fiscal Court and the Adair County Garden Club. The recently restored/renovated bank barn at Homeplace on Green River will ring with the sounds of live music at Saturday's plow day and spring festival. Putting some fitting touches on the bank barn are men from Campbellsville's The Healing Place. Residents of The Healing Place have played a significant role in the volunteer work at Homeplace over the past several years. Plow Day and Spring Festival is today, Sat 22 Apr 2017. The festival starts at 8amCT/9amET and ends at 4pmCT/5pmET. More than 50 exhibits, demonstrations, live music performers, artists and crafters animals and food vendors are scheduled showcase early Kentucky agriculture. The $10 per car parking includes all of the activities at the festival. Campbellsville Elementary School recently named its Leaders of the Month for the month of April 2017. Students chosen were selected because they excel at the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, specifically Sharpen the Saw. The students will be honored at a luncheon on Wednesday, April 26, with local community leaders.
