Returning Begley Scholars honored at LWC convocation

Bethany Harting, left, a psychophysiology junior from Leitchfield, KY, and Christy Antle, an education junior from Russell Springs, KY, stand with LWC President William T. Luckey Jr. The John B. The LWC Singers were recognized for achievement during the 2016-17 school year. Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin honored the group with a letter of appreciation and gratitude for their selection as Kentucky's delegation to the National Festival of the States for the 75th commemoration of the attack on Pearl Harbor in October 2016.- TRAVIS SMITH

Many are grateful for these marking places. This stump on a Travis Coomer property on KY 704 is one of these. A tree of character, many would say, a monument to itself, even before it has died. After years of service as a shade tree, it still sprouts some green growth. Photo 26 Apr 2017. - EW
