The closed intersection is constantly changing street scene theater, with the "pavement improvement" underway at a frenetic pace. But there are some big time interruptions, which can make one stop and think. A 'comb of nilla' at the Taystee Freeze, in sight here but by car a somewhat major trip, can taste even better in imaginings than it may actually be. The signs posted for 20 miles around this intersection mean it. Traffic is being diverted along the regular routes. At 3:41pmCT, Friday, May 19, 2017, we were able to make purchases at the Minit Mart. Access to Ballou & Stotts, left side of photo, was maintained on North Main Street. And the south side of the intersection could be accessed from here by side streets, with most traffic utilizing Cliff Street off Main to get to Schickel Park and the European Bike Rally, the Cumberland River access on Bank Street. It's takes longer, but in Burkesville and Cumberland County, being lost can yield wonderful rewards.
