Burkesville, KY has been the motorcycle capital of the world since Thursday with the 19th Annual European Bike Rally underway 18-21 May 2017, held annually the third weekend of May. Though the event draws primarily BMW bikes, other makes are welcome. This photo was taken Fri May 19, 2017. Former Magistrate Billy Rowe one of last of 350 at Free Tipping

Everyone was inside the gate at the cutoff time of 12 noon. An estimated 350 vehicles went through in the day and half day. Our county is a lot cleaner today because of this most important program supported by our Adair County Fiscal Court and efforts of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee. - VICKY PIKE

Bobby Bowe tried to utilize the free tipping at the transfer station yesterday, but gave up when the slow moving line backed up 30 vehicles in front of him. This morning, he arrived at 6:30amCT, was fourth in line when the processing began, and was on his way home to the Flatwoods at 7:12amCT. It was a very satisfactory experience, he said. - EW.
