Lindsey Wilson College on a perfect day, 19 Jun 2017
2017-06-20 - From L.R. McDonald Administration Building, 210 Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com photo(c). A look across the Quadrangle at Lindsey Wilson College from a corner of the L.R. McDonald Administration Building on the A.P. White Campus. Centered is the victory bell. Though the temperature rose a bit above normal comfort levels, the same slight breeze, atop Lindsey Hill as well as most hill and ridgetops in Adair County which is bone chilling in winter, made low 80's extremely comfortable. Somehow, in John Rockman's Botany class in 1958, we didn't learn enough, or I didn't retain enough to accurately name the lavender plant in the foreground nor the tree with the lime-gold foliage between the bell-and-crown and the Columbia/Adair County Utilities District water tower, and Taft Neal, the present day plant expert on campus, wasn't handy to give an expert opinion on the matter. I do remember many botany sessions centered on the campus' gingko tree, and hoped that it might still be around. - EW
