Careful where you wander
2017-06-25 - Breeding, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, columbiamagazine.com. Remembering 50s automobiles, Jamestown Hill, once ago
2017-06-25 - 705 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Jean Cravens Waggener . The year was ca 1957. The car, a second owner BMW. Probably the most fun, most vexing, and one of the most dangerous vehicles on earth, for sure the low point of BMW quality. The notes Jean Cravens wrote on the side are clear to family members, but maybe a bit cryptic to others. The John Beard residence, on the far right, is where Jeffries Lighting is today. Many on what was "Rural Route 2, Columbia, KY" may remember the mail box stands E.P. Waggener built; maybe someone still has one. When Jean asks the question, "Does anyone have any stories, about the car?" I, the former owner can say that ownership met all the tests of the Chinese curse, May you live in interesting times. Interesting times were all to abundant with the car. Still, I wish I owned it today. It was provided the most fun, ever. Always wished the Bavarian Motor Werk would build one to today's standards. I'd want be the first in line to sign up for one. - EW
