Won't say these are the best I've ever eaten, but I haven't had any to top these tonight at Patty's Liberty Road GS & D. The best thing was they were served to order: No more than half beans, more than half broth. And requested aftermarket option to microwave until the bowl could just be touched with a naked hand. Asked for onion slice cut in half. Asked for a hoecake. Asked for ketchup & Texas Pete to mix tableside. It came to order, and after fixing it up with half a shaker of black pepper, it was a meal to pray for for a first day in heaven. I've got my doubts about the hoecake being baked on a hoe over an open fire (as they were invented years ago), but a short cut can be indulged when they taste as good as these. Served with endless glasses of sweet CAUD tap water over ice and topped off with a new rage at Vester, White Chocolate Kit Kats. The meal couldn't have been better. (Linda paid). On my first stop to Ridge Runners Liquor store I was greeted by their mascot. Soon after the girls told me he did tricks. This is his version of down dog drunk in the air conditioner comfort of the new establishment. Notice his brand is Bird Dog. Very nice establishment. This was a nice pick me up after shutting my finger up in the car door at Joyce Curry's wallpaper store up the road.
