Ornamental Poke for shade and ink 2017-08-21 - E Fortune Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Some judgmental people would misinterpret this scene as sloth and sorriness. And maybe that's true, but the giant pokeweed is providing shade, ornamentation, and a great source of the raw material for making ink. The red topped store bought trellis is to support on end of a highly productive grape tomato plant away from varmints. So far, that one plant has provide dozens of tomatoes with the best taste of the summer.
