Campbellsville Elementary School preschool students recently learned the importance of listening. Susan Kennon, a Campbellsville Family Resource and Youth Services Center liaison at CES, recently spoke to students about rules that will help them become a good listener. When listening, Kennon said, students need to watch the speaker with their eyes, keep their voice quiet and their body still and to direct their ears to the person speaking. Robert Ellis: Dehydrating Hedge Apples 2017-09-14 - Cane Valley, KY - Photo by Robert Ellis, Robert Ellis Woodworking.com. A sticky, slightly difficult process of readying slices for the food dehydrater. The difficulty stems from the Apple itself...it's Super sticky. I found what works best for me is a sharp butcher knife, with a secondary knife to scrape off the sticky "milk" that builds up on the knife when slicing. A sharp knife with a burr edge seems to work best. Since this time of the year the apples are grapefruit size I'm only able to process four apples at a time in the dryer.
