Big largemouth bass, like this one from Wood Creek Lake in Laurel County, will follow baitfish into shallow waters over the next month or so, making one of the best times of the year to catch them from the bank. Black bass, either largemouth, spotted or smallmouth, must gorge themselves as much as possible in fall to prepare for the rigors of winter survival.
