Progress on one of Adair County Entreneur Shannon Sexton's partnerships with husband Bruce Sexton and inlaws Mendel and LaGene Sexton, has, as of this afternoon, new signage. Work on the new center is quickening, and openings are expected in early to mid November. As well, additional businesses are locating there, with Black Stallion Steakhouse opening announced yesterday, with other commitments expected soon. - EW

KY Afield Outdoors: Productive Fall Spots for Black Bass

Big largemouth bass, like this one from Wood Creek Lake in Laurel County, will follow baitfish into shallow waters over the next month or so, making one of the best times of the year to catch them from the bank. Black bass, either largemouth, spotted or smallmouth, must gorge themselves as much as possible in fall to prepare for the rigors of winter survival. Bank anglers have as good a shot at a trophy bass in fall as those fishing from expensive boats.

Dulworth-Holt vows spoken on Eclipse Day, 2017

Eclipse Day, 21 August 2017, was special for two reasons, it was the day of the solar eclipse, and is was the day chosen for the marriage of Joan Dulworth and Gerald "Jerry" Holt of Adair County, KY. Between the bride and groom in the photo is Delpha Dulworth, the flower girl, ring bearer and mother of the bride. The event was enjoyed by all and culminated with the wedding party outside holding up their eclipse glasses looking at the sky.
