2017-10-27 - KY 90 between Albany and Montiello, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Scenic Adair County: Magnificent view from White Oak Tree
2017-10-27 - Near Roadside Park, 2310 Hwy 55 South Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. A view over plank fences toward Highway 55 South Road, from beneath a stunning White Oak Tree on a late October 2017 day. The tree, identified by Retired State District Forester Billy Joe Fudge, is plentiful in the nearby "scope" - a term old timers used, Mr. Fudge recalls - of trees in the forested area once know as Conover Woods, now the Roadside Park. - EW

Fall Color: Beautiful blue hydrangeas on Greensburg Street
2017-10-27 - Rice Addition turnoff Curve, Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Couldn't find a prettier specimen on the internet - setting including - than this sight on Greensburg Street, a nice less than half-mile walk from the Columbia Square. Blue hydrangeas went by the name "Blue snowballs," in Sulphur Well, in my childhood. Hard not to call them that, now. Everybody knew what we were talking about. This is great hydrangea country. I think these may have fierce competition on High Street. - LW
