Intercultural Tour takes LWC students to Louisville

Members of LWC's Intercultural Communication and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, began their "multi-culture" tour with a visit to the Muhammad Ali Center, where they experienced interactive exhibits detailing the athletic and humanitarian achievements of heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali, a Louisville native.

Columbia PD works 2 vehicle injury collision on Heartland Pkwy

Traffic was detoured about this collision scene in the 2200 block of Campbellsville Road/Heartland Parkway seen from the parking lot at Betty's OKCC Restaurant, looking north. The injured had already been removed from the scene when this photo was taken at around 8:30pmCT. Columbia City Police were awaiting the arrival of wreckers, one from J & S, the other from Cody's. One vehicle involved in the collision is in the ditchline on the left, is a 2013 Toyota Scion; the other, a 2015 Dodge Rogue, is in the spotlight center right of the photo. More details will be posted here when received from the Columbia Police Department. - EW

Downtown corner ablaze

If you're looking for fall color, the corner of Reed and Guardian Streets in Columbia is the place to stop and enjoy. The most colorful of all are the red Sassafras tree leaves. Check before you chew on a stem, though, which we used to do years ago, as it may be labeled unsafe today. -- LW
