Robert L. Garrison awarded posthumous Honorary Doctorate

A local entrepreneur who served his community as a civic leader and employer, Robert Lewis Garrison was awarded, posthumously, an honorary doctorate degree from Lindsey Wilson College during the college's 106th commencement ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 9. An Adair County native, he served more than three decades as an LWC trustee where he was a key member of the buildings and grounds committee during the most expansive period of growth in the college's history. Garrison's son, James and daughter, Amy Mitchum Garrison accepted the honor on behalf of the Garrison family.

Accepting the honor, posthumously, for Robert Lewis Garrison are his son, James Garrison and daughter, Amy Mitchum Garrison. Garrison, a local businessman and a 20 year member of the LWC trustees, died November 29, 2017.

LWC celebrated its first-ever class of MBA graduates during the 2017 Lindsey Wilson College Winter Commencement. The college began enrolling students into the online MBA program in fall 2016.

James J. Pike gives the commencement address

A nearly five decade automotive industry veteran and 20 year LWC trustee James J. Pike gives the commencement address during the 2017 Lindsey Wilson College winter commencement ceremony. Pike, who attended LWC in 1965, also received an honorary doctorate from the college during the ceremony.
