The little log house beside downtown Greensburg's Presbyterian Church was the home provided by the congregation for early minister, Rev. David Rice, founder of the first Presbyterian Churches west of the Alleghenies, 1784. The historical marker notes that he was born in Va., 1733; moved to Danville, Ky. in 1788 after having founded "Rice's School," or Transylvania Seminary near there, 1785. Member, State Constitutional Convention 1792; urged gradual emancipation. Came here, 1798, forming in this area two churches. Died age 83. The bike, at 225 E Main Street, is over the home of The Spoke Easy, a full sales & service business, next to the former Silver Spoon - not a tea room, coffee shop or cafe - but a children's store - a beautiful one. She shared, "My dad got me this dog for Christmas. She's full blooded registered blood hound. I’ve always wanted one. She is beautiful and I love her. They are hard to find."
