Christmas Lights 2017 - Historic Metcalfe County Courthouse

2017-12-25 - Edmonton, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, columbiamagazine.com.
From in front of the drug store on the public square in Edmonton, this is the view of the historic Metcalfe County Courthouse. It's what I used to look out on when visiting Ruby Wallace and other friends across the counter after school. Always good to revisit it at this time of year. -- LW

2017 Christmas Lights - W Court Street, Greensburg, KY

2017-12-25 - from the Square at W Court Street, Greensburg, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
West Court Street's sidewalk landing at the Square has an inviting seating area to watch the traffic and the seasons go by. Across the street, from left, the Greensburg United Methodist Church, the Green County Courthouse, and barely visible, Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home. Perhaps the most fascinating part of the photo is the sight of the 'stacked' house three quarters of the way up the hill, evocative of far eastern towns, or Liberty and Burkesville around here. - EW/LW

Christmas Lights 2018 - Snoopy high over US 68, Black Gnat, KY

2017-12-25 - US 68, Black Gnat, between Campbellsville and Greensburg, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Coming from the East, Snoopy appeared to be doing a Flying Wallenda performance well over the street, but a return for this shot from the west, let us know that he was well away from the travel lanes. Only disappointment - didn't get a chance to see him at night. The Tim Edwards Company platform was extended about 45-50 feet, it appeared, using patented Billy Joe Fudge metrics-from-a-moving vehicle. - EW

2017-12-25 - Shepherd Farm, Adair County, KY - Photo by Valeria Bault.
Valeria Bault document the White Christmas Adair Countians awoke to this Christmas morning, Monday, December 25, 2017. Not a record, but pretty good, in light of the polar ice cap melting.
