Columbia's Walmart will have an even greater impact on the local economy when the announced $11/hour minimum wage takes effect. The store's impact on the local economy got a giant boost last year when a Walmart Training Academy opened, bringing approximately 90 additional WM Employees to Columbia for managerial training. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to consider a zoning change for this property at 107 Paull Street (PVA Map No. 000-03 03-029.00 and PVA Map No. 000-03 03-001.02). Property owned by the Adair County Public Library, and the library itself to P (Public) The purpose is to bring the Library’s current property into the proper zone and plans to convert 107 Paull Street into a genealogical research center.
