Keepsake icicle backlit by late afternoon sun

Icicle lights -- not the kind you buy and string, the kind Mother Nature leaves behind a freeze and then spotlights with winter sunshine -- this one at the corner of Jamestown and Reed Streets. It appeared to be formed as ice accumulated on old wires, then began to melt and turn into art. The photo was made when temperatures were still below freezing last week.

Above Victoria Browning Pike is sworn in by Chairperson Lisa Greer, Adair County Clerk. She was approved by the state to represent the Democrat party, replacing the retiring Ben Loy.

Streets momentarily closed were Madison Alley, and E Guardian, Thursday.
