Scenic Casey County, KY: Uniform Green themed rooftops

2018-01-31 - Liberty, Casey County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Uniform Green Metal Roofs provide a unique skyline in Liberty, KY, as in this photo taken Jan 21, 2018, on a gray winter day, from Pettyjohn Street, near Campbellsville University's Liberty Education Center. The theme is continued, out of frame, right, at the Casey County Courthouse. Striking as the theme is, in just few weeks, when leaves turn green on the trees, on a sunny morning, we'd expect it to be downright incredible. - EW

CHS students learn to make 10 minute Bean Soup

2018-01-31 - Campbellsville High School, 230 W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Calen McKinney, Public Information Officer, Campbellsville Independent Schools.
Angie Freeman, expanded foods and nutrition program assistant at Taylor County Extension Office, shows CHS students how to make a 10-minute bean soup, as freshman Emily Kerns adds the beans. Students in Campbell's foods and nutrition class learned how to make a healthy and cost-effective bean soup. Freeman told students that the first step to making the soup is to cook the vegetables and then add the remaining ingredients. The soup included onions, garlic, tomatoes, lemon juice, chicken broth, kale and great northern beans. While the soup was cooking, Freeman played bingo and Price is Right games with the students, asking them to guess the prices of several food items and teaching them techniques to saving money when shopping for groceries. - Calen McKinney,
