Audrey Jones represented Walmart at the Chamber of Commerce meeting Tuesday, 13 Februry 2018. She is department manager in the Walmart Academy. Audrey has worked there for 24 years, starting as a high school student and moving up through the ranks. She and her husband Mike have been part of the Columbia Walmart family all through their careers. - LW

Council approves three proposals in brief 13 Feb 2018 meeting

The Columbia City Council, in a very brief Special Called Meeting Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at 5:15pmCT, quickly approved three recommendations from Mayor Curtis Hardwick which could, if carried through, improve economic development prospects, tourism and recreation, and will facilitate the summer meals project at the Farmers Market on the Square. Mayor Hardwick, center, above, presided, with all Councilors, Ron Rogers, Pam Hoots, Mark Harris, Craig Dean, Linda Waggener and Craig Lasley present. City Clerk Rhonda Loy is at left, by the Mayor, in photo, City Attorney Dustin Warren is at his right. Also in attendance at the meeting were City Police Chief Jason Cross and members of the media.
