Andrew Smith puts nail in coffin in MSC Tournament
2018-03-03 - East Kentucky Expo Center, 126 Main Street, Pikeville, KY - Photo by CU Athletics . Andrew Smith puts the nail in the coffin after his dunk with 5:57 left as Campbellsville upset Life University, 82-64, in the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Friday, March 2, 2018. Trailing by eight points at halftime, 42-34, Campbellsville men's basketball pulled the first upset of the Mid-South Conference Tournament by flipping the eight-point deficit into an 18-point win over Life University, 82-64. The win is the first for Brent Vernon over his former boss, Keith Adkins, and the Life Running Eagles. Campbellsville now heads into the Mid-South Conference semifinal looking for another first in Vernon's career – a win over University of Pikeville. The Tigers and top-seeded Bears tipoff at 1pmCT/2pmET in the East Ky. Expo Center. - Jordan Alves, Sports Information Director.

Scenic Putman (of Adair) County, KY - Frisky weather
2018-03-03 - Putman County section of Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Don't think it was their speed which sent manes flying in the wind. A gently wind handled that detail. But it was nice to watch their friendly curiosity and friskiness on a late February 2018 day. "Putman County" is, of course, a loosely defined unofficial subsection of Adair County - mostly or all, for Election 2018 purposes, in District 1. - EW

Myrtle is blooming now and my mind travels back
2018-03-02 - Somewhere in Sano, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Myrtle is in full bloom now as pictured on this roadside bank in eastern Adair County, KY. I never see these blooms on the ground cover called Myrtle without mentally zapping back in time some 60 years to a hillside walk, crossing the Little Barren in Metcalfe County, KY with my Mom, Geniece Marcum, to a place she called 'the old Scott place'. Clicking 'read more' below gives details. - LW
