An old friend is missing on McKinley Lane, Columbia, KY

2018-03-19 - McKinley Lane, off Liberty Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Mitzi Bault.
It's a sad day for McKinley Lane. Two years ago lightning hit one of our favorite trees in the front of our yard. As a child I climbed all over the three trees behind my parents house. Then, they were in the field belonging to our beloved neighbor Coleman Campbell.

In 1995 we purchased the land and in 1998 moved into our new home here. Every morning I could see the trees, my old friends, in my front yard.

Today. Johnny and Marvin Morgan had to take one of those old friends away. Others may not notice. . . But I'll never forget. - Mitzi Bault Photo Mon 19 Mar 2018.

Best gifts, tiny bouquet from tiny granddaughters

2018-03-19 - Lindsey Wilson College, 210 Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Tom Waggener.
Our sons brought us a perfect gift - a visit that included their daughters, Tillie and Hailey, both six for a couple more months, and the little ones picked a bouquet from the hundreds of tiny flowers beside the walkway from the parking lot to the restaurant for lunch. When you're a tiny person, you can spot tiny blossoms -- who knew there could be such a garden in a distance of less than a block? - LW

Larry Smith: Sun 18 Mar 2018 - Green River Lake/Spillway - II

2018-03-19 - Green River Lake, Taylor Co. KY - Photo by Larry Smith, General Manager, The Big Dawg, 99.9FM.
Just yards west of the control tower, the stream swung to a violent and dangerous mood, though inspiring for it's white water beauty. Can't remember if I've ever seen it like this before, and know I won't forget it. - LARRY SMITH.
