AC retired teachers rally to save pensions Thu 22 Mar 2018 2018-03-22 - Adair County Historic Courthouse, 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. This group of mostly retired Adair County teachers rallied on the Adair County Courthouse lawn today, Thursday, March 22, 2018, they included Marsha Walker, Beverly England, Kim Goodin, Lauren McQuaide, Robin Loy, Ellen Zornes, ACHS student, and Judy Haysley. The Rally against SB 1 is continuing at Historic AC Courthouse 3pm-6pmCT. At the time this photo was taken, the rally was drawing almost continuous support from passing cars, and leaders expected the numbers to be raised significantly when other government workers were expected after 4pmCT. Glasgow man falls from bridge 2018-03-22 - Burkesville Rd., Columbia, KY - Photo by Officer Josh Brockman, CPD. Paul Huffman of Glasgow was heading south on Burkesville Road when he lost control on the bridge due to icy conditions. Huffman struck the bridge but was uninjured. A passing motorist stopped to offer assistance to Huffman, and then a third vehicle lost control on the ice and struck Hoffman’s vehicle. During this chain of events, Huffman lost his footing and began to stumble on the icy bridge. Huffman was unable to gain stability and he fell over the side of the bridge, dropping approximately 50 feet to the ground below. He was airlifted to UofL Hospital from TJ Health of Columbia.
