The Hungry Kids Cafe is separate from the Farmers Market but it shares the big lot provided by the City of Columbia on the corner of Campbellsville and Merchant Streets. By 8:15amCT it was already a busy place ready to offer free food to all children. The Cafe is done with all donations and volunteer work. Edmonton Elementary sixth grade class around 1960 2018-04-14 - Metcalfe County, KY - Photo from the collection of good friend Yvonne. A classmate recently shared this photo of the Edmonton Elementary sixth grade class around 1960. I recognized some friends I'd later get to know at Metcalfe County High School, though at the time this photo was made I was in North Metcalfe Elementary School located between Sulphur Well and Center, KY. Delightful memories blossomed when I saw the teacher, Aunt Isabelle Sandidge, standing to the left of the photo looking over her pupils. She was a strong leader and mentor, key in helping me have the courage to transition from the country school to the big consolidated school in the county seat, a scary proposition. Let's get started! Hungry Kids Cafe pronounced open for the season and yummy by the Booth girls, from left, Cadence, 6, Kennedy 8, Roxie 4 and Raegan held by Mom, Cali. All are experts on good food -- Dad Kellis Booth, was starting the waffles at Waffle Street, a few booths down. Downtowners remember Kellis' days with Harvest Cafe on the Square - and will never forget the times Cali brought Kennedy, then a toddler to the cafe' - and Kellis' work at Anderson's pizza restaurant.
