These two pictures spotlight differences and similarities of Wild Sweet William, left, and the not-wild Phlox on the right. The bluer family member on the left, woodland Phlox, grows wild in clumps in lightly shady areas, especially creek side. Wild Sweet William blossoms grow on stems six or eight inches tall. The warmer lavender Phlox pictured at right is a low-to-ground, carpet Phlox version, planted by gardeners. Car in the creek: A bad sign for Russell Creek Crossers 2018-04-17 - Keen Wilson Road, between Zion/Beautiful Joppa and Ozark, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Keen Wilson Road is a favorite place to travel for photos of flowers and landscape. Some good ones were discovered today, however, the strangest discovery was of a vehicle in the middle of beautiful Russell Creek, pointed as if to drive right down the watery lane. It's a mystery. Surely no one tried to drive across, with streams so high right now, due to numerous rains this season. No persons could be seen inside nor around, so evidently it is just awaiting rescue.
